The Capuchin Museum and Crypt in Rome offers a unique and engaging experience designed to promote knowledge of Capuchin history, art and spirituality. Our educational services are designed for schools, student groups, and families, offering tailor-made educational tours and activities to explore the Capuchin Friars’ cultural and religious heritage.

Kids Tour

The Kids Tour is a special tour dedicated to young children, enriched with informative and fun themes. Our staff will accompany children to discover the most important objects in the museum, the fascinating history of the Capuchin Friars, and the mysteries surrounding the crypt. Through interactive activities and simple language, children will enjoy an educational and stimulating experience. While children participate in the Kids Tour, parents can visit the museum and crypt in peace, taking advantage of the audioguide service.

Educational Pathways for Schools

Our school tours are designed according to the age and interests of the students. Using an interactive and participatory approach, students will discover the history of the Capuchin Order, explore the works of art housed in the museum, and understand the significance of the crypt and its decorations. The paths are supported by educational materials to make learning more accessible and engaging.

Educational Laboratories

Our creative workshops offer students the opportunity to explore the topics covered during the visit through hands-on activities. These workshops are an opportunity to explore arts and crafts techniques related to the Capuchin tradition, offering an educational and fun experience.

Special Projects

Information and Reservations

Reservation:

compulsory with a minimum advance of 10 days.

Times available:

School groups: daily, from 09:00 to 10:00.

Sunday: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Cancellation policy:

– Cancellations 10 to 3 days before the visit: 50% penalty.

– Cancellations within 2 days of visit or no-show: 100% penalty.

Cancellations must be reported via email to receive a refund, if any.

Can I visit the Museum for free?
Free entry to the Museum is granted to the following visitors upon presentation of a valid identification document:

Visitors with disabilities, and, if explicitly stated, their accompanying person.

National tourist guides with a professional badge.

Members of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin.

Children up to and including 6 years of age.

How can I purchase a reduced ticket?
Reduced-price tickets are available for the following categories of visitors:

Visitors aged 7 to 17 years and those over 65 years old.

Students upon presentation of a valid ID.

International tourist guides with a professional badge.

Members of religious orders.

Can I buy skip-the-line tickets?
Skip-the-line tickets are not available.

Can I get a refund?
Tickets cannot be refunded, resold, or used for a date other than the one booked.

What payment methods are accepted?
You can pay with cash or any credit card.

Do I need to reserve tickets for children?
For children up to and including 6 years old, no reservation is required as they are entitled to free entry.

Do you offer activities for children?
The Museum offers activities dedicated to children. For more information, please consult the Educational Services page.

Are strollers allowed in the Museum?
Yes, strollers are allowed in the Museum.

Can I take photos or videos?
You can take photos or videos exclusively for private and non-commercial use. For any photography intended for print or digital publication or aimed at profit, prior authorization must be obtained from the Fondo Edifici di Culto (FEC). More information can be found in the F.E.C. section.

Can I bring a suitcase into the Museum?
Large bags or suitcases are not allowed inside the Museum. However, free lockers are available for storing such items. All stored items must be retrieved at the end of the visit.

How long does it take to visit the Museum?
A complete visit takes approximately 60 minutes.

Can I re-enter the Museum on the same day with the same ticket?
No, re-entry is not permitted. To optimize visitor flow and reduce queues, each exit is considered final.

Can I draw inside the Crypt?
Yes, drawing inside the Crypt is allowed as long as it does not interfere with the view or movement of other visitors. Please ensure respectful behavior to maintain a pleasant experience for everyone.

How many people are allowed per group?
Groups with a tourist guide can consist of up to 10 people and must use a radio guide system. For groups using audio guides, the maximum number of participants is 25. If a group exceeds these limits, it must be divided into subgroups in compliance with the above requirements.

Can I visit only the Crypt?
The visit includes both the Museum and the Crypt. It is not possible to visit the Crypt without also including the Museum.
