The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary will host an unmissable musical event as part of the cycle “Sacred Itineraries in the Church“.
Event program:4 p.m.: Guided tour of the church with the theme The Sojourn in Rome by Guido Reni, by Rector Brother Gian Nicola Paladino OFMCap.
4:45 p.m.: Music critique by Artistic Director, Prof. Giammarco Fabiola, professor of Organ at the L’Aquila State Conservatory of Music “A. Casella.”
To follow: Organ Concert, performed by Maestro Giovanni Faedda, organist of the “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” Conservatory of Music in Cagliari.
The musical program will feature performances of pieces by great masters of sacred organ music, including:
– D. Buxtehude (1637 – 1707) – Prelude and Fugue in G-dur, BuxWV 147– J.S. Bach (1685 – 1750) – Fugue in g-moll BWV 542– L. Boëllmann (1862 – 1897) – Prière à Notre-Dame from the Suite Gothique, op. 25– M. Reger (1873 – 1916) – Consolation op. 65, no. 5 and Fugue in D-dur, op. 59 no. 5– Improvisation on a theme by Maestro Giovanni Faedda (1982)The event is free of charge. In addition, reduced admission will be available for an optional tour of the Museum and Crypt.
